A clear, phased approach — so you always know what’s happening and why.

When you’re dealing with the IRS, uncertainty is often the worst part. You don’t know what you owe, what the IRS will do next, or what a resolution will actually cost you. At Tax Resolution & Consulting LLC, Enrolled Agent Alexander Garcia built a tax resolution process specifically to remove that uncertainty. Our tax resolution process works one phase at a time.
1

Phase 1: Investigation & Strategy

Every case starts the same way: with facts, not guesses.

Before recommending any course of action, Alex pulls your IRS transcripts, reviews any notices you’ve received, and evaluates your financial picture. As an Enrolled Agent, he’s federally licensed to research your account directly with the IRS — no waiting on you to interpret confusing notices or guess at what’s actually owed.

This phase concludes with a straightforward written recommendation: what your options are, what he believes is the right path forward, and what Phase 2 will involve. Nothing moves to the next step without your sign-off.

2

Phase 2: Resolution

Once you decide how to proceed

Alex handles the representation — directly with the IRS, on your behalf. Depending on your situation, that might mean an installment agreement, Currently Not Collectible status, an Offer in Compromise, penalty abatement, lien or levy resolution, or an appeal.

Every Phase 2 engagement is scoped in writing before work begins, so you know exactly what’s included. We are always upfront and honest with our fee structure.

3

If Your Case Grows More Complex

Tax situations don’t always stay simple.

If the investigation uncovers additional entities, unfiled years, payroll tax exposure, or other issues beyond the original scope, Alex will tell you — before doing the additional work, not after. You’ll receive a revised proposal reflecting the actual scope, so there are no surprise invoices.

4

After Resolution

We don’t stop here

For clients who need ongoing oversight — monitoring IRS correspondence, tracking compliance, staying ahead of future issues — Alex offers continued monthly representation. This keeps a licensed professional watching your account long after the original matter is resolved.

What You Can Expect Throughout

  • A federally licensed Enrolled Agent handling your case. Alex holds unlimited practice rights before the IRS at every level — audits, collections, and appeals.
  • Deep familiarity with how the IRS actually operates. Alex’s background includes time inside the IRS collection process, giving him insight into tax resolution process and how cases are evaluated and what resolutions are realistic.
  • No guesswork, no surprise scope creep. You’ll always receive a written explanation before moving to the next phase or before any additional work begins.
  • Honest expectations. Alex won’t promise a specific outcome the IRS hasn’t agreed to — he’ll tell you what’s realistic and pursue the strongest path available.
